The law referred to in your last sentence exists.

I would support the law about the budget. This flimflam dates back to the mid-1960s or earlier, and both parties are complicit in it.

It should be illegal for the government to lie to the people about how much money we owe. Someone please start a drive to get a common sense law passed by congress that would require the Federal government to report accurate understandable ( for the everyday common worker ) figures on the budget. While you’re at it maybe we could get an attachment to that bill making it a crime to reveal the identity of undercover CIA agents by government sources.
