Man Bites Dog Story: CNN Reporter Rattles Pelosi

Filed under: MSM Biz/Other Bias, Taxes & Government — TBlumer @ 12:00 am

Wow. Fox should grab Kyra Phillips before CNN, which may have figured out that a non-stop Bush bash for Katrina isn’t warranted (or good for ratings), figures out a way to get rid of her for insubordination.

After some initial tougher-than-expected questioning from Ms. Phillips, Pelosi lost her cool (HT RushLimbaugh.com; link only available to non-subscribers until Monday afternoon):

PHILLIPS: What about all the warnings from the Army Corps of Engineers years ago —

PELOSI: No!

PHILLIPS: — saying there’s a problem with these levees, there’s a problem with these cities?

PELOSI: Myra, Myra, Myra…

PHILLIPS: It’s Kyra.

PELOSI: If you want to make a case for the White House —

PHILLIPS: It’s Kyra.

PELOSI: — you should go on their payroll.

PHILLIPS: I’m not making a case for the White House by all means, believe me.

While I’m at it, what a chickenbleep response by Pelosi, who probably went in expecting a walk in the park. Welcome to the kind of questioning conservatives have routinely received for years, Nancy. In the long run, getting challenged is actually good for you. With practice, you might be able to show your constituents and the rest of America that you can think, and not merely spout mindless talking points.

Memo to Fox: Ms. Phillips has a very impressive resume (read it–she’s been to a lot of places most of us wouldn’t go to on a bet). Her presence wouldn’t hurt the, uh, visual appeal of your newscasts either.
