Positivity: “She Was My Angel”

Actually, a anonymous stranger was a life-saving angel for six:

Stranger Saves Sioux City Family From Fire
It’s more than a good deed. One woman’s act of kindness saved the lives of a Sioux City family. When a fire broke out earlier this week at a home in Riverside, a stranger came to the rescue.

The life of Brenda Hunter and her five small children has changed dramatically. Early Tuesday morning as they slept, fire and smoke spread throughout their home in just a matter of minutes. And the outcome could’ve been a lot different.

“The only thing on my mind was what if she hadn’t come. We’d have been trapped in there,” said Hunter.

That morning, Brenda awoke to the sound of her doorbell and looked out her window to see nothing but flames.

“The leash of the dog was on fire. I saw him hunching down and my eyes traveled to the house. I saw the side burning and started screaming, ‘fire, get out of the house!’”

At the door, a stranger. A woman who just happened to be passing by saw the smoke and took the time to alert the family.

Brenda got all five kids out of the house, including a nine-month-old. The woman kept the children inside her car to keep them warm. Brenda had no timie to grab shoes, so the woman gave her the slippers off her feet.

For the Hunters, its a true testimony that timing is precious. In a matter of minutes, the whole house would’ve been engulfed in smoke. But, because of this citizen making them aware, the whole family got out safely.

But in a time of crisis, Brenda didn’t get the woman’s name, and would like to thank her for saving their lives.

“I thank her, whoever she was… she was my angel,” said Hunter.
