As soon as this news broke, my husband and I looked at one another and said "Harriet Meiers."  We don't think that [Meiers/Alito] deal was orchestrated, but was a [rare] lesson from which the administration learned.

Ergo, I don't think it's much of a stretch that the folks in charge anticipated a bigger tantrum from the left if Halliburton had been awarded a bid to perform the port services.  

Putting up the UAE company, knowing that the Dems are striving for a positive Homeland Security image, is brilliant to say the least because NO ONE is comfortable with this and we are already seeing a national bi-partisan debate...

Part of which is asking if any American companies exist that are both capable and able of performing these same services.</description>
