The quote used is an obvious ad hominem attack on Liberals. Will is purposely trying to add to the ongoing smear attempt to brand Liberals in a negative light.

This attempt has already failed, evidenced by the recent wins by Democrats in Republican states. Also by the fact that Republican popularity in Washington is at a new low.

The study states that 84% of all Americans are either happy or very happy. But, the comparison of Conservatives vs. Liberals is only for "VERY HAPPY" people. Will starts out with this fact. However, he proceeds to morph this information into some fantasy reality.

He states "normal Conservatives... are less angry than liberals." Notice how he uses the word "normal" only for conservatives. And just what is his proof? Bumper stickers. Very scientific.

By the end of his diatribe, he has finally morphed his fantasy reality into, "Liberalism is a complicated and exacting, not to say grim and scolding, creed. And not one conducive to happiness."

So, Will, in the end, dishonestly brands ALL Liberals as being unhappy. Never mind that 84% of all Americans are happy or very happy.

Once again, this is an obvious smear attempt to brand Liberals in a negative light. However, what has really been accomplished is the outing of Will's dishonest use of the facts, and the Washington Post's embarrassment for having published it.

The people are too smart for this kind of propaganda crap anymore. It truly insults their intelligence. Will should be fired from the Post for his intellectual dishonesty and for attempting to misstate the truth.
