Kerry-On Baggage: Ohio US Senate Race Edition (Sherrod Brown Steps in It)

Mike DeWine must have thought in this press release earlier today that Sherrod “Charade” Brown would at least keep his yap shut about John Kerry’s insult to our troops.

He overestimated his opponent (HT Hewitt), who said the following just a few hours ago:

Rep. Sherrod Brown, a Democrat leading in late polls in his bid to unseat Republican Sen. Mike DeWine, said Republicans are merely trying to change the subject. “The people who should apologize are George Bush and Mike DeWine for sending our troops into battle without body armor and without examining the cooked intelligence,” he said.

I suppose Brown is going with the “botched joke” meme.

Hewitt says:

Like many other Democrats and most of MSM, Sherrod Brown doesn’t care what the military heard. He discounts it. He does not value it.

Why would anyone trust Sherrod Brown or any other Kerry defender to represent the military well when they are so studiously indifferent to their reaction to Kerry’s slander?

Why indeed.

I’m starting to think there is a real joke in there somewhere. Something like, “Did you hear the one about that guy who was ‘leading in the polls’ in the US Senate race in Ohio?”
