#1, very good points. I believe Mrs. Clinton expected a walk in the park until next summer's convention. Doesn't appear that way.

Nasty, combative primaries can have negative effects on the general elections that follow.
For example, in the 1976 Republican Presidential primary Bush One referred to Reagan's supplyside economic policy statements as "Voodoo Economics." When Reagan won the nomination and the Oval Office in 1980, the Dems gleefully derided his tax cuts and other economic policy actions as, you guessed it, "Voodoo Economics." I truly hope that Shrillary-Hillary-Billary and Osama-Obama-rama pound each other to bits and thereby inflict permanent damage on whichever one wins the nomination that proves to be politically fatal in the general election. In addition, I'm thinking about sending some money to Ralph Nader in a feeble but nonetheless sincere gesture of encouragement for his ego-maniacal primary campaign. The GOP may pull this presidential election out of the fire yet.
