[...] Ok the interesting part of the call was this question by Tom of Bizzyblog, following up on an earlier post of his about whether Bush Administration officials actually threatened to not enforce current immigration law if they didn’t get their comprehensive bill. Boehner’s response: “I’d be surprised if that were the case. Two- if there were any suggestions that that were the case, it’s outrageous. We’re a nation of laws, and enforcing those laws is a requirement of the administration.” [...]

#8, the point is that no one has been caught having specifically said "I won't enforce the law." As long as they pretend, they can't get nailed. But if anyone is caught or proven to have done so, they should be gone.

And this refusal to enforce the laws would be different, how? Can't threaten not to do something they already aren't doing. I must agree with largebill.

If Gingrich's comments go unchallenged I will take that as confirmation that he was telling the truth. It fits in all too neatly with how they have addressed any disagreement over the amnesty bill.

You have to get beyond your dislike of Bush and Cheney or this belief in their supporter’s loyalty to the President over the party. I want folks to be loyal to the Constitution first; however being loyal to your boss is nothing unusual. It has nothing to do personnel with the POTUS and VPOTUS, but rather the accumulated power of the oligarchs in DC. Trust me if Gore or Kerry were president we would be having the same battle over immigration, and yes, the war. All the policies of this country are set by the oligarchs in the DC.

When you look at the rate of growth of our national government you’ll note that we have had more collusion between the parties, more infringements on personnel freedoms, more spending, and more taxes. And all the while DC is getting larger and so is the power of the few that reside there.

Cornell, the problem is more than Bush; he is only part of the problem. The problem is the power held by the unelected moving about in the shadows. These oligarchs have a plan and our national sovereignty is not part of it. If all Americans read the words of the Founding Fathers they would know this. But they don’t. Do you know why? Because our multi-culturist leftist teachers have stopped teaching this!

It is freaking plain as day my friend; keep the people ignorant and change is easy; but too is putting on the shackles.

#2, if there were no 17th, the OH legislature would be recalling George Voinovich right now, if not much sooner.

Tom;

First how would we figth back? The answer is the collective state governments would convene a constitutional convention to settle the matter (Article V). But the problem we have in this country is that our states have lost their power and position with in the federal government because of the 17th Amendment. This amendment should never have been passed because we were supposed to be a republic. Secondly, most all of the state legislators do not know anything about Article V of the US Constitution.

This is incredible, if true, we have two branches of government colluding to thwart the will of the people. Amazing!

Bush and Chaney both think that they are above the Constitution. The sad truth is that many of our Republican elected officials are more loyal to the President and the Republican Party then they are to the American people and it's about time rank-and-file Republicans accepted this. If there is to leadership, it will have to come from the ground up.
