40-50 Million Uninsured? Nope

It’s not 45 million, it’s more like 10 million. The Business & Media Institute’s Julie Seymour has the details.

  1. TB,

This is old news, what isn’t known, however, is that this number has been relatively constant (considering population increases) since 1995; it is less than in 1970; started its rise in the mid-70’s; started leveling off in the 80’s; and the main causes are social (out-of-wedlock births, education deficit, single parenthood) and governmental (tax code, state insurance regulation, employer-based health insurance) more than economic (unemployment, business cycles, cost of care).
