This is not a Democrat thing or a Republican thing. For anyone who has left a post blaming the Taft administration for this, PUH-LEASE stop thinking in terms of partisan politics. Sure, the Taft administration was awful at best. But the fact of the matter is that Governor Strickland's administration could have changed this policy. Taft is long gone, and it was not changed, even after dire warnings were given. Ironically, the policy has
changed pretty dang quick once the stink started to hit the fan.

My family's social security numbers could be in Nigeria right now, and I'm mad as hell!

I'm forced to pay the astronomical taxes in this state.
The least the state can do is safeguard my information. They didn't. So, now the state is culpable. I think the state of Ohio owes us the best possible identity theft protection FOR LIFE, not just for one year. The state is the culpable party, not me. Why should I have to pay? I don't care if it is "only" ninety nine bucks a year. The state can get (and probably has) a sweetheart deal. Why is Strickland only offering this to us for a year? Unless you plan on dying in a year, a fat lot of good that will do you!

I have written several letters to the governor, but his office has yet to acknowledge my existence. I hope it's because they are so swamped with letters they can't possibly get to mine. Somehow, I suspect they're just ignoring me.

Please write the governor, your representatives, senator, and anyone else you can think about this idiotic fiasco. If you don't speak up simply because you're affiliated with a certain political party, then you are a sheep. If this doesn't piss you off, then you are a sheep. When the police come to arrest you because someone has committed crimes in your name, then you can tell the police it was Taft's fault. I'm sure they'll give a rat's ass.
