Addendum to my previous comment ...

I agree with "largebill."

Had the mother, in this case, been African American, or any lower income level, she would have had handcuffs slapped on her wrists, her other kids ripped from her, and been doing prison time ... for murder ... by now.

Another aspect ... what if it had been the father that committed this act? Oh, right, he's a middle class white male also.

Makes you wonder who's getting paid off?

This case makes me sick. This woman is going to get away with killing her kid. She went back to her SUV how many times? 2? 3? ?? She picked up the box of donuts sitting next to her kids dead corpse and she didn't notice? Bullsh*t.

She killed Cecilia. She knows she did. And now the District Attorney is not only giving her an 'out.' What kind of example does this set for other people who get tired of their kids and having to take care of them? How high is the death rate for children who die from heat because they're parents are too stupid & lazy to take them (the kids) out of the car and in to wherever their going.

Well, at least she made a good impression on the people that she served the donuts to. I mean, hell, what's more important ... serving donuts to a bunch of overweight spazztards or your kid? Hmmm. Let's think on this awhile.

#1, disecons of scale then turn into "too big to fail."

#2, it is an immeasurably horrible precedent.

The case of no charges for the mom who killed her kid is just begging to be pointed at next time a neglected child dies. Imagine a single mom working two jobs who makes a similar mistake. Now imagine she is a black woman. Then watch the reaction after charges are filed. I don't know what punishment is appropriate, but I do know that the prosecutor was wrong to dismiss the charge without letting the system play out.
