#2, the snowball is exactly the point. SCHIP, from the left's view, has always been about expanding government healthcare until the sector that isn't government-run just throws up its hands and gives up.

Interestingly, is playing around with the tiny compacted snowball at the top of the hill, and not considering the voluminous one that would result at the bottom of the hill should no one take a stand now. Quite obviously, the Frosts are abusing the system as a symptom of their own dysfunction in setting priorities.

The Democrats (and proponents of the S-Chip expansion) are considering the humongous snowball at the bottom of the hill, however. This is a step forward towards "Universal Healthcare." This is a step into the abyss of allowing the Liberal faction of our Government to hide behind cost management when they tell you..."sorry, no more trans fat," or "sorry, that red meat is gonna kill ya." To date, John Q. Public scoffs at those who would try to impose behavioral modification by applying invasive legislation of the sort. Be it excessive new taxes on "snack foods" or as in NYC disallowing the sale of Trans fatty foods (which has already occurred), the Liberals will use the ever increasing taxes applied towards this perceived "Universal Healthcare" as an excuse to attack personal preference in the false premise of controlling costs.

Already, studies are deluging our lives making every effort to classify "obesity" as a medical condition. This is part of a strategy mapped out by the plaintiffs' bar, and those that benefit most from their lobbying (i.e. Democratic Liberals who receive about 75% of their contributions). Instead, 99 times out of 100 obesity is a result of an individual's poor judgment. It is the same poor judgment that causes those of us not properly insured to believe that they are owed this coverage from our Govt. Yet, it will no longer matter if a "Universal" plan is enacted. We will all be captives of our wallets. This divide and conquer nonsense will be in full view as the voters will have to decide to challenge personal invasive legislation, or consider the unlikely possibility that once enacted, "Universal Care" can be nullified. The resistance to personal invasive legislation will lose its opposition in the name of “how many dollars do I have in my wallet” and not what is fundamentally fair.

In short, this S-Chip expansion is just a cog in the wheel of the overall effort to increase dependence on those in Washington, and solidify their control of the individual. It is a step towards Socialistic practice in the field of medicine. It will not only lessen ones financial worth, but it will also cheapen your life as, one by one, you will lose those personal choices that are taken for granted.

So endeth the lesson. ---Sean Connery (The Untouchables).
Cheers,
