Harry Reid’s Rush Limbaugh Smear Letter and Abuse of Power Update

5:45 p.m. — Here are the two transcripts, both hard-drive savers:
- “Senator Reid: You Win, Rush” (backup link for when the original goes behind Rush’s firewall)
- “Betty Casey Wins Smear Letter at $2,100,100; Rush Matches Bid; MC-LEF Will Get a Total of $4.2M” (backup link)

After this, and the barely-veiled threat to ABC to pull its broadcast license (full text here) over its airing of “The Path to 9/11″ (or did you forget?), anyone who doesn’t see the Senate majority as a collection of thugs willing to use intimidation and threats at every available opportunity is blind in one eye and can’t see out of the other.

5:00 p.m. — Allah has linked to the Reid video originally linked to by Drudge. Oh, is it ever painful to watch. It’s “Mark Mays,” sir, not “Mark May.” What a maroon. And I can see why Rush is offended by this “we” crap. Zheesh.

1:10 p.m. — Rush says the winning bidder’s name is Betty Casey, who is apparently a noted philanthropist. I’ll post some of links to Rush’s program transcript (he is on a roll) this evening when it becomes available.

In the meantime, I want to personally thank you, Sherrod Brown, for your pro rata role, amounting to over $102,000 ($4.2 million divided by 41) in this blatant and historic abuse of power. You must be sooooo proud. The Marine Corps – Law Enforcement Foundation, a registered charity which provides financial assistance to the children of fallen Marines and federal law enforcement officers, is clearly thankful too.

1:05 p.m. Congrats to bettyc588 on her winning bid:

12:55 p.m. — I understand the Harry Reid is attempting to glom on the astounding Ebay auction of the letter sent to Clear Channel Chairman Mark Mays for the sole purpose of intimidating Rush Limbaugh. That letter was also signed by Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown, Hillary Clinton and Barack “BOOHOO” Obama.

Limbaugh has the letter up for bid, and as of 12:58, the bid is $2.1 million. Rush is matching the winning bid amount. Reid, who you couldn’t find with a search warrant on this issue until now, apparently made a speech (on the Senate Floor, I think — yes it was) at about noon.

Rush’s interpretation of what Reid said, “You win, Rush.”

This IS “more fun that a human being should be allowed to have.”

  1. Harry Reid Tries To Steal The Show From Rush…

If you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!Harry Reid, on the senate floor, tried to take the credit by praising Rush’s decision to place the letter on ebay.
Everyone knows that Rush Limbaugh and I don&#82…

  2. I have just received an anonymous e-mail with a link to a site, I Call BS, that purports to have a secret recording of Harry Reid’s Secretary from Friday morning. You can listen to the mp3 and judge for yourself. It seems authentic to me.

    Some one should tell Rush.

  3. #2, I’m only able to read the transcript at the moment, but that is funny.

  4. Great, so Sherrod Brown not only looks like a namby-pamby wuss, but also writes like one…jeeze.

I am delighted that this has worked out the way it has, with Sen. Reid on the defensive. I wrote a leter to the editor for several newspapers on this subject. None had the courage to publish my letter.

The following open letter was sent to Senator Harry Reid’s Web Site, to express my displeasure with his actions.

    21595 County Road 68
    Robertsdale, AL 36567

    Honorable Harry Reid,

Senator, I have just read the letter you sent to Mr. Mays, CEO, Clear Channel, concerning comments of Mr. Rush Limbaugh on the radio. It was signed by 41 misled leaders of our government. I know people in the Senate say bad things about each other and other politicians. This has been bad for the citizens of our country to endure. But, we have come to expect you to lie about each other and to each other. Not that we approve of your actions.

In my observation, you have made some bad blunders about our troops and the war on terror. You once said that we have lost the war. How would you feel if you were looking an enemy in the face every day and a key member of your government made such a stupid statement for the press? I am too old to go to war. But, some of the National Guard troops, I helped train, have been committed. I do not appreciate the position of danger you have placed them in with your careless remarks. Please, for the sake of our country, do not run for reelection next term. You could leave now and receive friendly slaps on the back and a big retirement.

Sorry you bought into the lie about Rush Limbaugh. The people of this country are not fooled by your actions. Each election, the notorious 41 will have to face this silly letter. You don’t have the power to contact any boss and have someone reprimanded. YOU HAVE JUST HANDED RUSH LIMBAUGH THE SWORD TO KILL YOUR POLITICAL CAREER!!!
