So much for advocating the pro-life position! Actions speak louder than words. That would be the second reason why I won't vote for Romney, this on top of Universal Health Care. One of my objections to Universal Health Care was based on the idea that once you give/accede the State the right to usurpt individual health care choices, you then give them the right to decide what coverage level and services to be covered. What's next? Gender reassignment surgery? Then comes Edward's promise of micromanagement where you will be told what lifestyle modifications you must do in order to be in compliance. Your failure to comply with what they deem "reasonable" life extending or improving habits means they must have a way to punish you if you don't just like the fine for not having health insurance. This is nothing short of a dictatorial power grab under the guise of a doctor's order! As we have seen with HMOs, doctors must follow the protocols set by the HMO for something to be covered. Now State bureaucrats get to set the protocols in the name of saving the State money and having healthy subjects! The problem is, it is not the State's money, it is the premium payer's money who are forced to subsidize those who can not comply.

The fact that Romney was not able to forsee such an obvious outcome means he is not qualified to be POTUS. Universal Health Care is just an euphemism for Socialized Medicine, instead of high taxes, you have high premiums. Instead of doctors and their patients making choices, you have bureaucrats qualifying what choices you "can" make. A choice ceases to be of free will when you are not allowed to even consider all the options through obfuscation. Instead of Health Insurance protecting individuals from catastrophic costs, now we have bureaucrats forcing us to pay for PC procedures. What's next?
