Patrick Poole remembers Pan Am Flight 103, and who blew up the plane:
The bombing was organized by Palestinian terrorist Abu Nidal in coordination with the intelligence service of Libyan dictator Mummar Ghaddafi. After international indictments were served, Abu Nidal fled to Iraq, where he lived under the protection of Saddam Hussein.
Poole’s Existential Space is carrying the must-see totally-unofficial Fred Thompson ad (YouTube link).

Not surprising, but good to hear from Conservative Culture — Congressman Jim Jordan is running for reelection.

FYI News notes in a home page link that Ted Strickland is prohibiting charitable work by state employees on government time. That’s a good but easy call (and absolutely disgraceful that it was allowed in previous administrations). Now I want to see Strickland enforce the ban on political campaigning on government time during the upcoming presidential election.

Interested-Participant explains what a “watermelon” press release is. Only because I’m not sure my link will go where it should at this site because of its page design, I’ll tell you: It’s green on the outside, and red on the inside.

Betcha didn’t know this, but thanks to King’s Right Site I do, and now so do you:
Uranium traces ‘found’ on tubes from N Korea
Published: Saturday, 22 December, 2007, 02:50 AM Doha TimeWASHINGTON: US scientists found traces of enriched uranium on smelted aluminium tubing from North Korea, which appears to contradict its denials of a secret uranium-based nuclear programme, the Washington Post reported yesterday.
US officials were concerned that disclosing the finding of the uranium traces on tubing samples provided by North Korea would further complicate diplomacy with the secretive country, the Post said, citing US and diplomatic sources.
Geez, I wish they didn’t make it sound like they’d rather look the other way.

Since he’s commenting here from time to time, my theory is that Large Bill isn’t updating his blog because he wants to keep the “Navy beats Notre Dame” post at the top for a long time. Given that it was 44 years in the making, I can’t say that I blame him.

Return of the Conservatives has a great vid (YouTube link) of “A Homeschool Family (snap-snap).” That was so much fun, I’d consider including it as a positive Reason to Homeschool. Lord knows there are enough negative reasons, such as this.
He also links to a RedStater post about Tancredo supporters gravitating towards Duncan Hunter and not Tom T’s inexplicable fave Mitt Romney.

Maggie Thurber’s blog is apparently for the erudite. Yeah, well mine is more ….. uh ….. accessible.

First, closing your comment forum so you can always have the last word in is typical neo-con playbook, but it’s still tacky. Patrick never responded to my coffee invitation, as he is chicken to meet me in person or say things to my face. How could my lawyers contact him anyway? He keeps his address a closely guarded secret because he is, once again, chicken. By the way, the lithium comment is so unoriginal, I already used the description “prozac Pat” so stop ripping off my insults, you fat retard. BTW Blumer, I’m in Ohio for Christmas so the coffee invitation goes for you, too. Let me guess…you can’t say something to my face, either. Or maybe you’re just afraid I’ll bring my terrorist friends along. Guess you’ll never know. As for the suicide belt comment…like I would tell you if I was planning an operation lol.

#1, I close my comments after a week or so to keep my sanity against spam comments that were coming in at 200/day before I started doing that. Older posts that happen to still have comments open have them that way by accident, not design, and I close them as soon as a spam comment gets through.
Your and my only quarrel was over whether or not the data in the stolen State of Ohio data devices was encrypted. It wasn’t. The OIG said so. “Dispute” over.
You were wrong. You never admitted it. Everything you write from this point forward is tainted by that….. until you admit that you were wrong, and that you’re sorry about the abusive comments you left at the time you were shown to be wrong.
That’s the first and last contact I would prefer to have with you, and there’s nothing about that incident that I would say to your face that I haven’t indicated already in comments. Despite your attempts to invent another quarrel over something else, we don’t have one.

#2) You never admitted you were wrong for attacking my credibility when the entire report was merely quoting the Darke County JFS’ ANGLE. You attempted to “get me in trouble” with my editor. Q: How did a rural newspaper in Darke County ever come to your attention? A: Because my opinion columns were picked up throughout S.W. Ohio and *gasp* I have an Arabic last name. Your continuous cross-posts of Patrick Poole’s hate speech prove you are of that ilk. But since you lack the testicular matter to have a face-to-face, I have nothing else to say to you. However, if you continue spreading the rumor (according to Poole) that you got me FIRED from the Daily Advocate, then I can guarantee you a call from my attorney.

#3, this is our last communication on the blog, as anything beyond this will serve no purpose.
- The full extent of my original reaction to your article was “Zheesh.” Go back and look. Some “attack.”
- I did not attempt to get you in trouble with your editor. I called and attempted to get a correction, and learned that you were no longer with the paper. I then sent a follow-up e-mail to the editor after the OIG report was issued, indicating that the data was encrypted, and that he might consider doing a correction. I have no idea whether he ever did.
- I have never said, or implied, that I got you fired from the Advocate. Ever.
- Q. Why did your article come to my attention? A. Because I have a Google Alert set up for “identity theft.” It has nothing to do with your first name, your last name, your maiden name, your husband’s name, your marital status, your involvement or lack thereof with any other causes, or your newspaper’s location.
- I recognize when people do good work. Patrick Poole does good work that others are too lazy or too PC to do. But if you have any complaints about his work, your beef is with him, not me.
Buh-bye.
