Positivity: Cancer Survivor Celebrates 90th Birthday

Stella and Clyde Sparks of Marion County have been married over seventy years and still very much in love.

Their faith has kept them strong, even through the toughest of times.

One of which was back in 1995, when their doctor broke the news that Clyde had pancreatic cancer.

“He said take him home. We might have a year, take him home and have fun with him and let him do whatever he wanted to do because we’d be lucky to have him for that long,” says Mary Imbody, Clyde’s daughter.

But now it’s 13 years later and Clyde is celebrating his 90th birthday.

“When I feel bad I’ve got somebody to talk to, somebody I trust, somebody I know,” is how Clyde explains his lasting power.

He’s speaking about God.  He says he knows he’s a miracle, and the family’s prayers have been answered time and time again.

” I think the lord knew that I needed him,” says Stella, laughing.

They are parents of ten, grandparents of 23 and the great-grandparents of more than 40! …..
