This is the story of a remarkable recovery in North Carolina. Crash survivor Za’Nyiah Jones was released from the hospital Thursday night. Za’Niyah is now staying with her grandmother.

Seeing 3-year-old Za’Nyiah Jones sit and play is something her family no longer takes for granted.

“It’s just a blessing to see this child home,” said Linda Schoolfield, Za’Nyiah’s great great aunt. “It is truly a blessing because she truly is a miracle child.”

That miracle came during a time of tragedy, Za’Nyiah lost her mother Trarika Burke, her two brothers and mother’s boyfriend in a horrific crash in late February - somehow Za’Nyiah survived.

“To find out she was the only one who survived, I mean it hurts,” said Tracey Weston, Za’Nyiah’s grandmother. “I mean at the same time it was a blessing.”

Family says it’s not puzzling at all why Za’Nyiah’s life was spared, they just feel it wasn’t her time to go.

“Every time I think I want to cry, I end up saying ‘thank you god,’” added schoolfield, “thank you god because he didn’t take her. He left her for a reason.”

That reason may forever remain a mystery. The tears the family cried, now turn to smiles, just knowing this miracle child is alive.

“After seeing the car, you never thought someone would make it out,” said Leslie Gilliam, Za’Nyiah’s aunt.

Visible scars aside, Za’Nyiah is back to normal, talking a mile a minute.

“It means more to me than anything in this world,” added Schoolfield. …..
