Never Underestimate a Democratic Politician’s Ability to Grow the Acronymy (in This Case, BOOHOO)

Filed under: Taxes & Government — Tom @ 2:36 pm

Gosh, this has been fun.

The original naming exercise for Barack Obama merely involved adding “Obambi” to his full name.

“Obambi,” for those who don’t know, is a nickname Chicago-area reporters hung on Obama a while ago. Maureen Dowd of the New York Times began using it in late 2006.

“Obambi” apparently had some legs, so to speak; Chicago Tribune reporter John Kass noted in late December 2006 that “Another (name) gaining national currency is the cloying, cutesy-pie “Obambi,” casting Illinois’ favorite son as a political fawn.” (link no longer available; article found in ProQuest library database).

It worked for me, and BHOO was born (Barack Hussein “Obambi” Obama).

Those who don’t like it should first ask “revered” lib MoDo why it’s okay that she has referred to “Obambi” seven additional times since the one I cited above, including two different times just over a month ago. Let me know what she says, K?

I continue to use the candidate’s middle name, as previously explained, based on his encouragement of the idea.

It wasn’t long before there was ample opportunity to expand Obama’s acronymized name. The Boy Candidate put forth the idea of going into Pakistan to get Osama Bin Laden even without that country’s permission. The press would call this an “invasion” if the idea were proposed by a non-Democrat.

(Mini-update, April 14: Note to those who want to play the race card on “Boy Candidate” — it’s a play on R. Emmett Tyrell’s characterization of Bill Clinton as “The Boy President.”)

He also regaled us with the benefits of his having led “a life of living overseas, having family overseas, being able to see the world through the eyes of people outside our borders.” But, as Newsweek pointed out (link no longer available), his “life overseas” consisted of “just four years as a kid.”

Thus did BHOO beget BOOHOO (Barack O-bomba Overseas Hussein “Obambi” Obama).

I thought that would be the end of it.

But, as the post title says, “Never Underestimate a Democratic Politician’s Ability to Grow the Acronymy.”

The candidate soon to be formerly known as BOOHOO has proven himself objectively unfit during the previous few weeks by refusing to renounce his supposedly-former, but still-at-the-web site pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright of the Trinity United Church of Christ (TUCC); refusing to renounce the Black Liberation Supremacist Theology promulgated by Wright and his co-pastors; and insisting that he, his wife, and his young daughters will continue to attend TUCC (see Update at link), even though the supposedly-new pastor Otis Moss III is not expected to be any different in substance from his supposed predecessor.

His associations with the likes of the Rev. Wright, Rev. James Meeks, and others led me to this inescapable conclusion last week:

A person who is without the judgment to run away from this garbage ….. as fast as he (and his family!) can, but instead hangs around for 20 years (just stop it already with the plausible deniability arguments), is …… objectively unfit for the nation’s highest office and all that holding it entails.

To complete the new acronymy, “Coddler of Haters” (i.e., the Reverends, the New Black Panthers, Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, Iran-Ahmadinejad, and perhaps not-yet discovered others) fits.

(Given his treatment of his “typical white person” grandmother, and his remarks about small-town Pennsylvanians and other “Midwesterners” [!], “Cracker Hater” was under consideration, but, sadly, the Acronym Committee, whose slogan is “It’s the Acronymy, Stupid!,” eliminated it as too narrow in the given circumstances.)

So from this point forward, Mr. Obama will be the presidential candidate I refer to as BOOHOO-OUCH (Barack O-bomba Overseas HusseinObambi“ Obama, Objectively Unfit Coddler of Haters).

That’s enough inflation in the acronymy for now.

UPDATE: As a sign of respect, let’s make it “Mr. BOOHOO-OUCH.”

  1. “That’s enough inflation in the acronymy for now.”

A ten letter acronym is just a bit much. You know it is just like a typical white person to take all the fun out of acronyms. Anyways, the U in “Unfit” is sufficient for voters to remember when they get in the booth.

  2. #1, LOL. It’s the latent bean-counter coming out.
