<i>Clinton merely hit targets established by Cheney under Bush41, but you know that.</i>

NO I don't, but even if it were so (and it isn't), the world changed and got more dangerous than anticipated, and Clinton did less than nothing (with the unfortunate help of Congress).

Your IBD link tells us “Iraqi forces ran al-Qaida terrorists out of Mosul, the terror organization's final urban stronghold.” While it is nice to see Iraqi forces doing something on their own for a change, lets not forget that al-Qaida didn’t exist in Iraq until George W. Bush foolishly invaded. al-Qaida in Iraq is not the organization that attacked us on 9/11. Bush attacked the wrong target, and he can't get us out.

#1, I did re-listen. Twice.

Unilateral. Disarmament. China free to do as it pleases. Deliberately slowing down tech development.

It's amazing what ignorance you reveal. Cheney reduced forces in reax to the end of the Cold War while underestimating the Islamic threat. He right-sized it based on the understanding of the day.

After Cheney did his thing, Clinton gutted the military way below what Cheney ever envisioned, even though it was becoming obvious that the Islamist threat was real and growing (as early as 1993 WTC bombing).

This IBD link shows how deep the cutting went:
<a href="http://www.investors.com/editorial/editorialcontent.asp?secid=1502&status=article&id=290296894663930" rel="nofollow">HERE</A>

W himself hasn't ramped up enough. Obama will be worse than Carter.

I guess you'll have to read this IBD link to see how badly this "mistaken" war and related items are going:

It was radical Defense Secretary Dick Cheney who proposed cutting our military personnel by more than 25%. Clinton just finished implementing Cheney’s plan:

“Early in 1991 the secretary unveiled a plan to reduce military strength by the mid-1990s to 1.6 million, compared to 2.2 million when he entered office. In his budget proposal for FY 1993, his last one, Cheney asked for termination of the B-2 program at 20 aircraft, cancellation of the Midgetman, and limitations on advanced cruise missile purchases to those already authorized.”

George W. Bush sadly yet literally “gutted” the military by losing 4,000 soldiers and three-quarters of a trillion dollars in his deceitfully and mistakenly waged war in Iraq.

Obama is not talking about “surrendering in the war on terror" or “unilateral disarmament.” He’s just talking sense. Listen again.
