Things I’d Like To Post About Today ….. (062308)
But I Don’t Have Any Time For:
- RIP, George Carlin.
- Drudge has linked to the Yahoo! News-carried version of the despondent drivel of Alan Fram and Eileen Putman that I criticized yesterday. My theory is that Drudge is holding it up to ridicule, and deservedly so. Brutally Honest has a great video response from Harley Davidson.
- Pat Buchanan says WWII was unnecessary. Christopher Hitchens says Buchanan is wrong. Hitchens is correct.
- Progress in Iraq is so obvious the New York Times had to report on it — on a Saturday, hoping that as few as possible would read it. Also note the difference between the accompanying picture at the web version of the story vs. the black-and-white “please don’t look at this” picture on the print edition’s front page. Michael Barone at Townhall does a better job of analyzing the situation in any event.
- Robert Mugabe’s not going anywhere, and “the silence of the world is deafening.”
- The presidential candidate I refer to as “Mr. BOOHOO-OUCH” (Barack O-bomba Overseas Hussein “Obambi†Obama – Objectively Unfit Coddler of Haters) broke his pledge to use public financing. Patterico caught the print LA Times (HT Michelle Malkin) working hard to minimize exposure of the hypocrisy. This ad was apparently a factor in the decision. The guy scares easily.
- Obama seems to have cornered the tyrant vote (here, here, and now here [HT see-dubya at Michelle Malkin’s place).
- Ralph Peters: “Those who knew Obama in his university days claim that he couldn’t be persuaded to study history. It shows.” Does it ever. “And his lifelong lack of interest in the military is self-evident.” Is it ever.
