corrected sentance.

Being raised in the same LDS stake area as the Romney family, your threat of being” punched in the face”, is not new----- people have been harassed, threatened, battered, assaulted, terrorized and mocked BY them and their contacts -- it was standard operating procedure, making them even more unfit for a position of influence

Blake, Blake, Blake, McCain must have found out something pretty serious about Romney to pass him over—something like he could be a threat to the nations national security, Mitt and his family are compromised. Mitts faith was not the major problem with Mitt, his character flaws were.

The dishonesty, abuse, stealing, demeaning, intimidating and miss use of women and children, in and of itself is enough to view them as unfit.

Go talk to the Rogers family, and stop using wrongful influence to harm people, he is not that powerful of a Congressman, did not look good nearly falling over Foley, and his relative wanting to head to the Michigan legislature is in no position to be seen for a favor doer, especially brutal favors. That area in Michigan sounds like the CBC which Palin took on.

It was Mitt manner of his ‘practice of religion”, more than his religion. Besides to make a threat of ‘where I come from they punch people are in the face” however typical, sounds like you may be from the Cedar City area, and no one needs another Mountain Meadows.

<strong>Who is Sarah Palin? Some information....</strong>

Much like the residents of 49 of these United States, I know very little about Sarah Palin. So, who is she? What does she stand for? What does she believe? I’m very curious…let’s see what we can find out.

#10, in your dreams. Palin will hold her own at least, and it wouldn't surprise me if she kicks him from here to Dover.

You also wrote:

<i>Blogs like this and the media in general smeared his religion so much that there was no way for Mitt to be nominated. Religious beliefs should be personal. Where I come from, if you talk bad about someones religion, you get punched in the mouth.</i>

Try to show me a specific example of where I "smeared" Romney's religion. You can't.

The "most" you can accuse me of is referring to documented news-covered examples of sexual abuse in the Mormon community, and some additional evidence from another person, leading me to believe that more, and maybe a lot more, that has gone undetected and/or unreported.

Where I come from, if you imply a threat to punch someone in the mouth, you have created something that is arguably actionable. Since I'm a person of good will, I'll let it pass -- this time.

Thus, you owe me two apologies - one for the religious bigotry accusation, and another for the implied physical threat.

The proper words to use in each instance are "I was wrong. I am sorry."

You've got until midnight tomorrow, or you're not welcome back. I only allowed your comment through to emphasize that I'm not going to put up with personal accusations of religious bigotry or personal threats. Period.

Mitt Romney was, and is, objectively unfit for reasons that have nothing to do with his religion.

#10, great point. Mrs. Clinton has NEVER been in an elected executive government role either.

In fact, IIRC, Richardson was the only borderline credible candidate with executive experience except Kucinich, who almost singlehandedly blew up Cleveland when he was "boy mayor" in the 1970s.

I am disgusted with the hypocrisy of the Dems, here they were ready to nominate a woman as President in Hillary Clinton who has arguably less experience than Palin in running a bureaucracy. Hillary Clinton has zero foreign relations experience as well unless you want to count that faux snipper story landing in Bosnia or some such place. If anyone is going to claim Hillary has foreign policy and executive experience due to her being first lady, you should be laughed out of the room and worse, you open the door for her to accept equal blame for Clintons foreign policy disasters. It wasn't because the world loved us that they plotted, trained and financed the 911 attacks DURING the Clinton Admin.

The fact is claiming Palin is not ready to be President is sheer hypocrisy on the Dems part since clearly Obama is even LESS qualified than Palin. What this really says is the Dem party has been patronizing to women for years with absolutely NO intent on treating them equals. Therefore the reason why Hillary Clinton did not get the Dem nomination is strictly due to SEXISM. It's time for the Dem party to fish or cut bait, EITHER women are EQUAL to men or they are SECOND CLASS CITIZENS. Which is it? John McCain and most of the GOP BELIEVE that WOMEN are EQUAL and this was demonstrated by his choice. The fact that Palin thanked Ferraro as being the first woman ever to be nominated as VP shows she has class and the MSM and Dems do not. Ferraro even said no Dem ever thanked her publicly as Palin did. So who was pandering and being patronizing when Mondale nominated her? The Dems.

You as Dems have every right to disagree with Palin on the ISSUES, however you may NOT disqualify her service BECAUSE she is a WOMAN. The fact that the MSM has shamefully made her gender an issue by using the LIBERAL CODE WORD of INEXPERIENCED speaks to their hypocrisy. You don't like her stand on guns, fine, say so. You don't like her stand on abortion, fine, say so. You don't like her stand on Global Warming, fine, say so. BUT YOU MAY NOT DISQUALIFY HER BASED ON HER GENDER. I am calling you Dems and MSM out on this ugly subtle form of sexist discrimination using liberal CODE WORDS like INEXPERIENCED.

In fact, the more I think of it, Ferraro was right, the only reason why Obama is even being considered for president is because he is BLACK! Now talk about pandering by the Dem Party!

Your spot on Tony B. Terrible. Dug his own grave. Suicide. The blog says, "Absolutely nailed it "? What were we trying to nail ? Get someone in there with no foreign policy experience ? We looking to go one up on the dems ? Now start worrying about the VP debate with Biden. Does not look good. Uhh ohh. Where was Mitt ? Blogs like this and the media in general smeared his religion so much that there was no way for Mitt to be nominated. Religious beliefs should be personal.
As a registered Independant who has voted both Democratic and Republican over the years and as an observer, I think it was too much of a risk. Yes, it will shake up the Republican party, draw a few conservatives near, it may even temporarily cause some Hilary supporters to jump ship, but I think the question for Republicans is this... "Is she qualified to be the next President of the United States?" Sadly, Palin highlights McCains age and AFTER all this hype people will start asking themselves, in the event of a McCain health crisis, is SHE qualified to run this country. The next few months are going to be very interesting and I am curious to see how Palin fairs under the intense (inhumane) scrutiny of which she is not accustomed.... If nothing else, McCains pick has definitely got tongues a wagging.. At 39 I haven't seen too many Presidential races through adult eyes, but for me, this Presidential race has been the most interesting and has drawn my interest more than others over the years..Enjoy the show!!!

What an amazing pick by McCain!! Gov. Palin brings in a distinguished record of executive experience, running a successful and popular Government in Alaska. An ideal ticket is one where 1 person brings in the Washington experience/foreign policy/national security experience and the other brings in executive/administrative experience. This can be seen from all winning tickets in the past few decades. The republican ticket is the perfect ticket now. She has a record of clean governance, bipartisanship and reducing wasteful spending and is an ideal choice for McCain's VP.

For all those who wish to raise the 'experience' question - do you honestly believe that Gov. Palin is too inexperienced to be President (a post for which, btw, she is NOT running for) despite being the Governor of Alaska for nearly 2 years and a mayor for many years before that, while Sen Obama is experienced enough to be President (a post he is running for)? If you honestly believe Palin is inexperienced, there is now way you could support Obama. Palin brings in executive experience, McCain and Biden bring Washington, foreign policy experience - what exactly does Obama bring in? Neither of the 2.

Also, it is incorrect to see the choice of Gov Palin as a gimmick to pander to the women voters. While that is a bonus, the most important point is that she would be an excellent person for the role of VP in McCain's administration, with the executive experience, to help him run the country effectively. None of us know too much about her, but whatever little Ive heard so far is immensely impressive. I request all voters to give her a fair chance, do some research and find out about her, and you will see that her candidacy is no gimmick.

#5, you're a laugh riot.

On the GOP side, we have one guy with years of military and legislative experience and a woman who has been Chief Executive of the largest state in the union (areawise) and a CIC (of the AK National Guard). Each candidate has a son in Iraq.

On the other side, we have a serial speech plagiarizer who got an F in ROTC in college (how do you DO that?). And that's the one who has "experience" -- and he's at the bottom of the ticket. At the top, we have a radical, gaffe-prone, ignorant while insufferably arrogant, corrupt, race-baiting machine politician, who has to find out from his advisers what he should be saying today, posing as an agent of change.

Not to mention that our gal HAS babies, even "imperfect" ones, while your top guy is bound and determined to help anyone so inclined to kill them.

I think we all might be better off with Palin at the top of the ticket -- but I can wait 8 years for that.

What you posited is meaningless noise.

And that’s the one who has “experience” — and he’s at the bottom of the ticket. At the top, we have a radical, gaffe-prone, ignorant while insufferably arrogant, corrupt, race-baiting machine politician, who has to find out from his advisers what he should be saying today, posing as an agent of change.

Not to mention that our gal HAS babies, even “imperfect” ones, while your top guy is bound and determined to help anyone so inclined to kill them.

I think we all might be better off with Palin at the top of the ticket — but I can wait 8 years for that.

What you posited is meaningless noise.

Tom,

Stop it. Now you’re being every bit as cynical as John McCain was when he selected Ms. Palin.

The Maverick displayed seriously poor judgment, and it ultimately will not turn out well. My advice to you is to distance yourself. Apparently, McCain has only met face-to-face with this woman on two occasions, the second time to put her on his ticket.

#3, Memo to BizzyBlog's own officially designated Obama Spokesperson Tony B. -- you could not be more wrong.

VP Palin is infinitely more qualified than the pitifully inexperienced, gaffe-prone, hopelessly naive, yet insufferably arrogant Barack Obama -- by far.

After a months-long search 72 year-old cancer survivor John McCain chooses as his backup a woman who, at least at this point in her life, is in no way prepared to serve as President and Commander-in-Chief. John McCain obviously has not selected the best candidate to serve our nation as Vice President. Instead John McCain has selected the candidate he’s deemed most likely to help him achieve his personal ambition. Is this what John McCain means by “putting country first?”
