Sept. 28 UpdateCatch of the Weekend: Ryan David Jopek’s Mother Asked Obama NOT To Wear Slain Son’s Bracelet

_____________________________________________

From “The One” I refer to as “Mr. BOOHOO-OUCH” (Barack O-bomba Overseas HusseinObambiObama - Objectively Unfit Coddler of Haters), as he’s getting his butt kicked (forget the mindless spin - I know what I saw, and the reporters do too; if this is what they admitted to, imagine how they really felt) by the candidate I refer to as “JS3M3″ (John Sidney the Mad Maverick McCain III):

(Direct YouTube link; debate transcript here)

Jim, let me just make a point. I’ve got a bracelet too. From, Sergeant, uh, uh, from the mother of, uh, Sergeant, Ryan David Jopek. Given to me in Green Bay. And she asked me, “Will you please make sure that another mother’s not going through what I’m going through.”

There should be a question mark at the end of the sentence, but that’s not how Obama articulated it.

Check out Obama’s (mostly masked, but still present) facial expressions after he realizes that, in front of millions of viewers, many seeing him perform for the very first time, he couldn’t even remember Jopek’s name without looking at his bracelet, when he (Obama) was the one who was insisting on making a “me too” point.

Petulant. Punk. Pwned.

As a matter of fact, I think I’m going to have to add to this guy’s nickname for the balance of the race. Proud Unborn Unapologetic Neonatal Killer is the current front-runner. Petulant Unaccomplished Nonsupporter of Kin, and others, are under consideration.

The wheels are turning. Other suggestions are welcome. Stay tuned.

Matt Sheffield at NewsBusters asks:

Had a Republican, say Sarah Palin, made this gaffe, who wants to bet that we wouldn’t hear this clip repeated endlessly during the post-debate spin shows and in the days ahead? How much would the sincerity of our hypothetical Republican politician be called into question.

I didn’t hear it discussed once in the post-debate coverage. Did you?

Sheffield cites several examples of media silence.

With all due respect to Sgt. Jopek’s mother, and grief for her loss, if she wants her goal achieved, she gave the bracelet to the wrong guy.

  2. If this is what Republicans must grasp for to cling onto some fictitious life boat…then so be it.

McCain came across as contemptuous, dismissive, haughty and angry. Obama ate him alive on the economic discussions…and hit McCain hard on Iraq…”you were wrong”.

But hey, keep clinging to that life raft.

  3. I see my own personal ObamaTroll is back.

McCain was right about Iraq. Obama was wrong, across the board. So are you. You’re clinging to a 5 year-old set of crap that has long since been disproven.

Tom, you’re starting to sound as grumpy as John McCain. Maybe you two could make a movie.

  5. #4, no, you’re my personal pest. :–>

I must not have made it clear how pathetically ha-ha funny the incident was. Minutes ago, I showed it to someone else who doubled over in laughter.

  6. Actually I read several Obama leaning blogs who commented on this and said this was a big flub.

I would give them both grade B. Good but not great. That said, McCain is toast after jumping the shark this past week and Palin’s Couric interview. I also think McCain went way overboard with his use of the word naive. His distain of Obama seemed clear to me at the begining when he wanted a real quick handshake, and Obama tried to get in a longer one.

McCain acted as if he was earned his right to be there, but he didn’t think Obama was worthy. Kinda reminds me of Hillary’s attitude. See how well that worked for her.

  7. #6, Stay tuned for a Jopek update.

Once Hillary decided to go the “he’s not worthy” route, she almost took the nomination back.

  8. I agree with #1.

Gee, now I feel all selfish. My bracelet has MY name on it. (It reminds me of my godparents, who gave it to me.)
