Things I’d Like To Post About Today ….. (111708, Morning)

….. But I Don’t Have Any Time For.

The Father Newman situation, a Pajamas article just submitted, ongoing computer struggles, and regular stuff are going to limit blogging for the rest of the day, so here are some quick links –

  • Victory in Iraq. Bush has won; the question now is whether Obama will choose to lose.
  • Michelle Malkin found somebody who told Henry Paulson to take his bailout money and shove it, even with a gun pointed at his head. More such examples, please. Mariner Kemper of UMB Financial’s letter at Michelle’s place expresses legitimate fears that government equity stakes will lead to banks being run by politics instead of under sound business principles. Politics is how the financial mess we’re in got created.
  • The Death of Civil Discourse” (HT Instapundit) — brought to you not by Obama (yet), but certainly by many of his fans.
  • Lobbyists in key positions in Team Obama transition team” — B- b- b- b- but I thought he said ….
  • Obama wants Israel to return to 1967 borders — “Barack Obama is to pursue an ambitious peace plan in the Middle East involving the recognition of Israel by the Arab world in exchange for its withdrawal to pre-1967 borders, according to sources close to America’s president-elect.” It’s really a rehash of a discredit 2002 plan that was laughed out of serious discussion. Gee, I wonder what he would want to do if he DIDN’T totally support Israel (/sarc). I wonder how his Israel-supporting Jewish “friends” feel today?
  • Joe the Plumber Wurzelbacher’s records were accessed by a half-dozen different agencies of the State of Ohio. The snooping began the day after the McCain-Obama debate when Mr. W’s name was mentioned 20 times by the candidates. If Ted Strickland is still as nonchalant about all of this as he was 6 weeks ago, there should be hell — not hugs — to pay.
