House Passes Cap and Trade Crap, 219-212: Votes/Non-Votes to Remember

Filed under: Activism, Economy, Environment, Taxes & Government — TBlumer @ 7:55 pm

Here’s the roll call vote.

Here are the “yes” votes that will not be forgotten around here (with possibly more to come):
- Steve Driehaus (D-OH)
- Mary Jo Kilroy (D-OH)
- John “Northeast Ohioans want a job” Boccieri (D-OH; see vid at end of link)
- Marcy “I was leaning ‘no’ but changed my mind” Kaptur (D-OH)
- Heath “I’m a pretend Blue-Dog” Shuler (D-NC)
- John “I pretend to support Michigan industry” Dingell (D-MI)
- Chris Smith (R-NJ)
- Mark Kirk (R-IL)
- Six other RINOs (Bono-Mack, Castle, Lance, LoBiondo, McHugh, Reichert)

Kucinich voted “no.” My guess is that he saw the Greenpeace press release and decided it didn’t go far enough.

UPDATE: Michelle Malkin — “GOP members not voting: Flake and Sullivan. WHY?”

UPDATE 2: The answer to the question from House Republican Leader John Boehner at the end of this video is sadly and obviously “no” –

  1. Don’t believe this is not a tax on those making under $250,000. Everything this bill touches will go down the FOOD chain. Gas, electricity, food, products and services. Everything will go up, but it’s not a tax on you.

  3. This is the largest tax increase ever inflicted on the American people. It has nothing to do with global warming which will be considered a fraud by 2015. Every member of congress who voted for this needs to lose the next election.

  4. 1200 pages of cap and trade. No one understands, especially the folks that voted for it. Going to cost a lot. Wait until the traders get ahold of this, will make the old enron scandal look like childs play

  5. Why are they so out of touch. What is so hard to understand. People can not afford this!! It is going to hit each and everyone of us. No matter how much you make, if you have a job or if you do not. Everything you touch takes energy to create, so it is going to cost you more. Did YOU call your congressman?
