  1. Mexican owner (Bimbo) of Sara Lee and Entemann’s in negotiations to buy Twinky brand from Hostess.

Irony of ironies, IF Twinkies are to be made at all, it will be done in Mexico with Mexican workers and Mexican sugar. Yeah, that’s right union action cause outsourcing of 18,500 American jobs in one fell swoop! All because they didn’t want a pay cut to keep their existing jobs, now there will be a pay cut via cheaper Mexican labor… But then food stamps and unemployment checks are good for the economy. /snark/

Oh, while we are at it, why didn’t Obama intervene to tell Hostess and the Teamsters to come to an agreement so as not to jeopardize those jobs? Would that be because the owners of Hostess were a Democrat venture capital firm? SNARK

  2. #1, Actually the problem was not the Teamsters who did make an agreement with Hostess, but the Bakers Union (for short, their actual name is ridiculously long and includes tobacco workers!) who refused to also do so.

Which is why I asked, who will throw who under the bus? Will the Teamsters blame the Bakers because they wouldn’t take a deal, or will the Bakers blame the Teamsters for not showing “Solidarity?”
