Searching for Christmas: Year 8, Round 3 Results

Doing the searches now; will analyze the results after Christmas.

Google News shopping-related searches:

“Christmas shopping season” (in quotes) — 3,320 results (12.24%)
“Holiday shopping season” (in quotes) — 23,800 results (87.76%)

Last year’s Round 3 results performed on December 22 had “Christmas” about half of a percentage point lower.

Google News layoff-related searches:

Christmas layoffs (not in quotes, also excluding the word “challenger” to ensure that items relating to the mass layoffs report issued by Challenger & Christmas were excluded) — 14,200 results (27.00%)
Holiday layoffs (not in quotes) — 14,500 results (27.57%)
Holidays layoffs (not in quotes) — 23,900 results (45.43%)
