It will go up here at BizzyBlog on Sunday (link won’t work until then) after the blackout expires.
The column deals with what Barack Obama told former Clintonista George Stephanopoulos of ABC News earlier this week:
And, y– you know– I think what’s important to recognize is that– we’ve already cut– $2.5– $2.7 trillion out of the deficit. If the sequester stays in, you’ve got over $3.5 trillion of deficit reduction already.
And, so, we don’t have an immediate crisis in terms of debt.
In fact, for the next ten years, it’s gonna be in a sustainable place.
Combined with Obama’s statement to John Boehner during fiscal cliff negotiations that “We don’t have a spending problem,” that leaves punitive tax increases as the only option. There is no way to “negotiate” in any real sense with a president who holds these reality-denying positions.
