I think we in the states underestimate the hatred for Margaret Thatcher on the part of those who were benefiting from the statism she founght so hard to root out. Here’s just one example, from 1984: “Protesting Welsh Farmers Pelt Thatcher With Food.” Can anyone even begin to imagine this happening in the U.S.?
It’s unclear whether New Jersey’s Frank Lautenberg with ever return to the U.S. Senate. If he won’t, he should resign so he can be replaced.
