According to NewsBusters colleague Noel Sheppard, syndicated columnist Charles Krauthhammer has stated that “The chances of these (chemical) weapons being eliminated from Syria are less than of the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series this year, and they are now mathematically eliminated.”
Speaking for Cubs fans, I say, “We resemble that remark.”
Krauthammer could have made that prediction about the next 100 years, and the chances would still be awfully close to zero — but still greater than the chances that chem weapons will be completely out of Syria.
That doesn’t mean we need to reminded of how pathetic the Cubs are, Mr. Krauthammer. Go after the Cincinnati Bengals next time (unfortunately, yours truly is a Bengals fan too). They’ve never won a Super Bowl. The Cubs last won the World Series in 1908. That was only 105 years ago. C’mon.
