Defending Hillary, Politico’s Gerstein Changes a Quote, Allows Defense Based on a 1974 Document to Go Unquestioned

You rubes. Don’t you understand that the entire problem Hillary Clinton is facing over her use of a private server to process government communications is the fault of thousands upon thousands of people who don’t know how to classify documents?

That’s essentially the argument Hillary Clinton’s spinmeisters are now employing. This evening, Josh Gerstein at the Politico was all too ready to relay such arguments, even to the point of cleaning up what one of her defenders said to advance the cause.

So There’s This Video …

Filed under: General — Tom @ 7:39 pm

… of attractive University of Alabama coeds promoting their sorority by overindulging in eye candy:

This video is soooooo outrageous that the University has ordered Phi Mu to take down the video because it “is not reflective of UA’s expectations for student organizations to be responsible digital citizens.”

Oh … wait a minute.

I messed up.

The video above isn’t the one that was withdrawn.

It was posted last year, without incident. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that were a dozen or more such videos produced by U of A sororities.

But this video below somehow become the embodiment of all that is evil, was disavowed by the University’s administration, and has been taken down from its official perch — but obviously not until it was saved by someone else (HT Ann Althouse via Instapundit):

I don’t care why people didn’t like this video. I do care about why busybodies with wayyyyyy too much time on their hands got so incensed that they called for its removal, and I do care about a university administration which folds at the first sign of outside objection.

Geez, the people who are determined to be offended by anything and everything they don’t like or understand seriously need to get a life of their own.

AP Keeps Hillary’s Press Conference Walkout, ‘With a Cloth?’ Out of Coverage

The Associated Press works very hard to ensure that its subscribing outlets and low-information voters who rely solely on its work — knowingly or unknowingly — never learn about Hillary Clinton’s smart-aleck, sarcastic, condescending, reality-avoiding behavior.

Tuesday night, four AP reporters (saved here for future reference, fair use and discussion purposes) — Jack Gillum and Stephen Braun in Washington, with the help of Ken Thomas and Eric Tucker in North Las Vegas — failed to report that Mrs. Clinton cut her press conference short after getting a genuine question from Fox News’s Ed Henry, and that part of her answer to Henry’s query about whether her hard drive was wiped was “With a cloth?”

Center For Medical Progress: ‘Live Babies are Killed for Organs with Scissors at Planned Parenthood’

Each week it gets worse. Each week the position of those who defend Planned Parenthood becomes more untenable. What kind of moral monsters find this acceptable?

Warninggraphic and extremely disturbing:

From Operation Rescue:

“Today’s video is evidence that babies are being born alive during abortions at Planned Parenthood and then intentionally killed for their organs. This is no less than cold-hearted, premeditated murder,” said (Troy) Newman. “Furthermore, there is evidence that Planned Parenthood abortionists alter procedures to ensure the organs can be harvested. This is also a crime. We call on authorities in San Jose, Houston and everywhere else that Planned Parenthood is selling baby parts to immediately open murder investigations and swiftly bring those involved in killing born alive babies to justice.”

Positivity: For Pope Francis, Mary’s greatness comes down to this one virtue

Filed under: Positivity — Tom @ 6:00 am

From Vatican City:

Aug 15, 2015 / 07:18 am

On the feast of the Assumption of Mary, Pope Francis said that faith is the defining virture of her greatness and that the mysterious way she was taken into heaven is a foreshadowing of what awaits each of us.

“The Gospel also shows us the truest reason for Mary’s greatness and her blessedness: it is faith,” the Pope told pilgrims gathered in St. Peter’s Square for his Aug. 15 Angelus address, marking the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary.

Faith, he said, “is the heart of Mary’s entire story; she knew – and she said it – that throughout history weighs the violence of the overbearing, the pride of the rich, the arrogance of the proud.”

Yet she still believed and proclaimed “that God does not leave his children alone, humble and poor, but sustains them with merciful care, casting down the mighty from their thrones, scattering the proud in the conceit of their hearts.”

Dogmatically defined in 1950, the assumption of the Virgin Mary’s body into heaven is celebrated Aug. 15 every year, and is one of the most important Marian feast days in the Catholic Church.

In his address, Pope Francis turned to the day’s Gospel reading from Luke, which recounts Mary’s visit to her cousin Elizabeth shortly after conceiving Jesus through the Holy Spirit.

He recalled Elizabeth’s greeting to Mary: “Blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her by the Lord.”

“This is the faith of our mother, this is the faith of Mary!” he said. …
