  1. Retailer Gymboree files for bankruptcy, to close up to 450 stores

    http://www.jsonline.com/story/money/business/2017/06/12/retailer-gymboree-files-bankruptcy-close-up-450-stores/388818001/

Children’s clothing chain Gymboree filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection late Sunday, aiming to slash its debts and close hundreds of stores amid crushing pressure on retailers.

Gymboree said it plans to remain in business, hoping to regain its financial footing despite considerable challenges for physical retailers.

The company plans to close 375 to 450 of its 1,281 stores, according to a court filing, putting many workers at risk of losing their jobs. Gymboree employs more than 11,000 people, including 10,500 hourly workers…

…Gymboree also was among 22 companies that a Moody’s report last week characterized as distressed retailers. The Ca rating that the ratings giant assigned to Gymboree’s debt is far below investment grade.

How many of those 22 companies are going to make it to 2018? We need an economic pick up and soon.

  2. PROOF THAT JAMES COMEY MISLED THE SENATE INTELLIGENCE COMMITTEE [UPDATED]

    http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2017/06/proof-that-james-comey-misled-the-senate-intelligence-committee.php

Comey lied about taking notes with other presidents, his track record is he only takes notes with Republican ones. It really is getting tiresome that self serving RINOs like Comey and the late Arlen Specter have acted like double agents for the Democrat Party. Every last one of them needs to be weeded out.

The Founding Fathers were absolutely correct in creating the political spoils system and these so called civil service jobs within what is considered the Executive Branch should be converted back to political appointments. With EVERYONE knowing they “serve” at the pleasure of the POTUS loyalty to carrying out the will of the people is better served. The bureaucracy is more responsible to the constituency and not the political party out of power fighting a rear guard action, harassing the administration.

It’s now clear that Comey conspired to have a special prosecutor appointed for political purposes well before he was fired. Even though he could have transparently asked the DOJ for a special prosecutor he weaseled one instead so as to not appear siding with Democrats with the selfish intent of trying to keep his job.

The dictum of English Law is innocent until proven guilty, what Comey did here was to fabricate the appearance of impropriety via the Golden Shower Dossier to engage in a political fishing expedition to subvert the principle of probable cause. Comey is the poster boy of politicized law. You are supposed to have probable cause BEFORE you use the resources of government to investigate, not some partisan conspiracy theory. A conspiracy theory is NOT Probable Cause. The Golden Shower Dossier is an example of partisanship at its lowest disgusting form. For Comey to accept it was misconduct on it’s face. Then to use it to get a FISA warrant is gross misconduct of office, he needs to be prosecuted for this.

It also appears by new accounts that Mueller may also be just as sneaky as Comey when it comes to partisanship subverting the law. It’s called the Appearance of Impropriety (failing the smell test), hiring known Democrat supporters already taints the special prosecutor decision making process. Any negative finding by Mueller against anyone at this point is now will be dismissed as partisan abuse of the legal system. That sleazy maneuver by itself should prompt Mueller’s dismissal, but I suppose that is the optics that Democrats are going for…to claim Trump is guilty of something, of what we don’t know……yet.

Trump needs to play this smart, he should use his trollish whit to declare the Special Prosecutor a partisan hack because he hires partisan hacks. Make the Democrats defend Mueller and thereby hopelessly taint the entire endeavor in partisanship. This would force Congress to pick a side, a party line vote of no confidence in Mueller which would then set the stage of firing him. Meaning Senator McCain and others would be forced to stop their back stabbing behavior and either openly support the Democrats or shut up. Democrats would scream, but the optics would be a bunch of sore losers crying over a failed criticized openly partisan operation. Zero credibility and that would further damage the Democrat Party.

  3. I missed something, because I thought Gymboree was primarily a store where physical activity and exercises for toddlers took place. As to the core point, retail is a mess.

  4. #3, http://www.gymboree.com/

    Yeap, they sell kids clothes.

    They also do classes: http://www.gymboreeclasses.com/en/

My unPC comparison: This is like Petco and PetsMart sponsoring dog obedience training or rather a dog owner training session how to be good pet parent. There are no bad dogs, only bad dog owners who failed in teaching socialization skills.

  5. A few decades ago, the one Gymboree I was familiar with in Metro DC was classes only, or maybe almost all classes with a T-shirt or two. Seems like emphasizing clothing was a risky way to try to expand.
