Even When Caught Red-Handed Admitting the Trump-Russia Narrative ‘Is Mostly Bullsh*t’ …

… reporters from CNN complain childishly that conservative news sites like Breitbart got to ask the White House Press Secretary questions on Tuesday, and they didn’t.

Breitbart’s “crime” was teeing up questions about something almost everyone is talking about, but which no one at CNN wants to talk about. Too bad, so sad.

But when one sees the actual questions from Breitbart’s Charlie Spiering, one finds that they were challenging and designed to put the Press Secretary on the defensive, and could easily have been asked by the same CNN reporters who are now whining (in bold):

Spiering: Recently, Breitbart News challenged the accuracy of the CNN story, and afterwards it was retracted, [and] deleted, and the editors responsible were fired, as well as — the network apologized for the story. One of the targets of the story accept[ed] the apology. The president went on Twitter this morning and repeated that CNN was “fake news.” Why isn’t their response good enough for the president?

… Spiering: Does the president actually expect us not to report on stories of a foreign country trying to influence the presidential election?

As to CNN, which is trying to shrug off O’Keefe’s video — bad idea, given that there is more to come, and O’Keefe’s past efforts indicate that matters will only get worse for the network — this Deep Purple blast from the past comes to mind:

  1. Speaking of Spiering, is he really from Breitbart? If so, they need to send someone else because he acted like a complete jerk and if anything behaved worse than the mainstream media. Like one apology from CNN makes up for the constant barrage of fake news and shoddy stories they spew every hour of every day. And then he accuses the WH of being inflammatory and actually said all the reporters in the room are just “trying to do their job?” Seriously? Coming from the MSM that is simply delusional, but coming from Breitbart it’s downright disgusting and moronic.

  2. Well, lefties are going to claim that they were set-up questions with easy answers, even though as you noted they were challenging. So you can’t win. And Spiering, who has been with other right-leaning sites in the past, is now with Breitbart.

  3. #2, You can win by asking substantial and respectful questions and not caring about what some lefties will think. I don’t think the “questions” were challenging, I think they were more like disrespectful accusations. Why have alternate media at press conferences if they are simply going to be even more vitriolic clones of the MSM? Why not a question about issues with the Senate health care bill or building the wall? Nope, instead we get the same Russia obsessed, finger pointing drivel that the sanctimonious, self-glorifying MSM media gives us every day. Times ten.

  4. Ooops, I need to make an correction and apology. Most of the questions I’m referring to and the “we’re just doing our jobs” comment was actually said not by Spiering, but by a “reporter” who spoke after him from Playboy. Sorry, Spiering, I read the transcript wrong and thought you said things that some other reporter said.
