As CNN and MSNBC Go Wall-to-Wall With Trump-Russia, ‘Some’ at Fox Are ‘Embarrassed’ at Its Coverage

Monday, as Paul Manafort and others were indicted, the CNN and MSNBC had the following three rules for covering those indictment and other matters relating to alleged Russian attempts to influence the U.S. opinion and policy: 1) Thou shalt only cover matters relating to President Donald Trump and Russia; 2) While doing so, thous shalt ignore Russia’s interactions with Bill Clinton, Secretary of State and 2016 presidential candidate Hillary; 3) Thou shalt not report any other news stories today. The CNN Media blog, which is part of Money.CNN.com, reports that a few leftists at the more open-minded Fox News — if Fox wasn’t open-minded, they wouldn’t be there — are furious their network didn’t fall in line, both in saturation and tone.

Hassett Pushes Back Hard Against Summers’ Attacks on Him and Trump Tax Plan

On Sunday’s Fareed Zakaria GPS show, the host peddled the long-discredited mythology that the Reagan and Bush 43 supply-side tax cuts caused annual budget deficits to explode. Zakaria interviewed former Treasury Secretary and Obama economic adviser Larry Summers and current Trump administration Council of Economic Advisers head Kevin Hassett, but he did so separately, thus teeing up Summers to go after Hassett harshly and personally. Hassett’s strong response in the interview which followed showed that letting Summers escape without debate spared the Keynesian Harvard economist from what would have been a humiliating experience.

Fiscal 2017 Deficit Coverage Ignores Most of Obama Era, Smaller Debt Increase

A week ago Friday, the federal government reported that it ran a deficit for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2017 of $666 billion. The three major establishment press wire services failed to note that the national debt, instead of routinely rising annually by far more than reported deficits during the Obama era, rose by roughly the same amount during fiscal 2017; that the rise in the national debt was far less than the reported deficits during the first eight months of Donald Trump’s presidency; or that this year’s deficit pales in comparison to most of the Obama era.

Steyer’s ‘Impeach Him’ Ad Appears Before Stirring World Series Game 5 National Anthem

If timing is everything, billionaire far-left environmental alarmist and all-around fever-swamp leftist Tom Steyer may have gotten snookered by Fox TV. Before tonight’s World Series Game 5 broadcast in at least some TV markets, Fox carried Steyer’s unhinged ad “in front of the start of the … game.” It was soon followed by country music artist Clay Walker’s stirring rendition of the National Anthem — and from all appearances, there wasn’t a kneeler or a raised fist anywhere in sight on the field at Houston’s Minute Maid Park.

CNN’s ‘Flip the Script’ Attacks Consistent With Reporter’s Undisclosed Fusion GPS Relationship

Saturday evening, Tim Graham at NewsBusters posted on the previously undisclosed “personal closeness to Fusion GPS’ operatives” of CNN’s Evan Perez, the network’s justice correspondent. The underlying Daily Caller report to which Graham linked would seem to explain why CNN has been particularly hostile towards the Trump administration and even more incomplete than usual in its reporting since Tuesday evening’s revelations that Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee helped fund the infamous Trump-Russia dossier.

‘The View’ Censors ‘Jesus’ — Twice

On Friday’s episode of The View, there was a panel discussion on whether “some” of Judeo-Christianity’s Ten Commandments are “obsolete.” During that discussion, co-host Paula Faris mentioned “Jesus” twice. A video of the segment at the show’s YouTube channel cuts the audio both times Faris uttered His offensive and now apparently forbidden name.

Time: Trump’s Cabinet ‘Wrecking Crew’ Is ‘Dismantling Government As We Know It’

The most recent cover of Time Magazine — or I should say what’s left of it, given its parent company’s recent decision “reducing … circulation and frequency” of the formerly iconic publication — calls President Donald Trump’s cabinet “The Wrecking Crew” on a mission of “dismantling government as we know it.” Separate reports singled out EPA Director Scott Pruitt, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, and HUD Secretary Ben Carson for scrutiny.

NYT’s Egan Perpetuates Obama-As-Uniter Mythology to Attack Trump

Timothy Egan at the New York Times is so enamored of the mythology surrounding Barack Obama that he claimed in a Friday column that the 44th President’s rhetoric “was the best American music” which “celebrated” a United States where, in Egan’s words, “people from all races, ideologies and religious sects would check their hatreds at the door after becoming citizens.” Egan based his fantasy-driven view of Obama’s rhetoric and legacy on four quotes from just one 2008 speech, which then, in his mind, gave the Times columnist free rein to pretend that the nation’s current identify-driven divisions are all due to current President Donald Trump.

Some readers here know that music is my favorite hobby, and that I have played keyboards in several bands in recent years (two currently).

One of those is Soul Quest, an R&B band with two great female vocalists, drums, bass — and its leader and guitar player, Stanley Moore.

*StanleyMoore1017Stan is a rock-solid, lunch-pail, blue-collar guy whose decades-long day job has been fixing cars. He has been fighting leukemia for years, and beaten it twice. In the two-plus years I’ve known him, I have yet to understand how he has been able to function at the high level he does while fighting such a devastating disease. But he has.

Recently, though, it became obvious that he needed heart surgery. That operation took place in mid-September.

After the operation, the leukemia came back. I see him once a week, and I can tell you that, despite that setback, he is making nice progress towards recovery.

But meanwhile, his unpaid medical bills have gone into the stratosphere.

Stanley Moore’s family and friends are holding a benefit on November 5 to raise money to pay those bills, as seen in this promotional flyer:

Press Drags ‘Won’t Rule Out’ Responses From Flake, Corker on 2020 Presidential Runs

This week, demonstrating why they’re so despised by so many, the press created headlines out of thin air that Senators Bob Corker of Tennessee and Jeff Flake of Arizona, each of whom has announced that they will not run for re-election in 2018, “won’t rule out” presidential runs in 2020. In each instance, the Senators’ statements leading to headlines weren’t volunteered, but were instead created as a result of deliberate “news-creating” questions from journalists.
