It’s Official: FoxSports.com Is Pathetic

Filed under: General — Tom @ 9:31 am

FoxSports.com published no stories on women’s college basketball this year.

Last year, it at least covered the women’s Final Four.

This year, nada.

Friday and Sunday, it completely ignored two of the most thrilling games in college hoops history (men or women) at the women’s Final Four. Notre Dame defeated previously undefeated UConn in an overtime semifinals game, and then topped Mississippi State in regulation in the championship game. Both games were decided on clutch, last-second winning shots by Arike Ogunbowale. In the final game, the Irish came back from 15 points down, the largest comeback in women’s championship history.

SI.com has also cut way back on women’s college hoops coverage (I couldn’t even find a section dedicated to it), but they at least front-paged the Final Four stories, and had a great dispatches from Notre Dame’s semifinal and final games.

FoxSports.com isn’t a sports site. It’s a “sports we feel like covering, newsworthy or not” site.
