TWO hero eight-year-olds from Dumfries have been hailed by cops after they helped find a woman who had been missing for five days.

Drew and Fergus, from Kelton, were out playing in their hideaway with sisters Josie and Megan on Friday night when they stumbled upon the 63-year-old.

The quick-thinking lads alerted their parents immediately, who then phoned 999.

The woman was taken to hospital and officers say the boys “may well have saved her life”.

As a reward they were given a tour of their local police station with their proud parents.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “We organised a special tour of Loreburn Street Police Station for 8 year olds Drew and Fergus last night after they helped us find a missing person. …
