Cincinnati’s Tragedy at Fifth Third Bank Downtown …

Filed under: MSM Biz/Other Bias — Tom @ 7:18 pm

… where three innocent people and the shooter died, and five others were injured is barely causing a news ripple elsewhere.

Cleveland.com currently has the story way down at its home page in roughly the 22nd spot.

A short headline is about 80 percent of the way down the New York Times home page.

Drudge has nothing.

Why is this the case?

  1. To be blunt, and not saying I agree with this, the shooting was not “sexy” enough. Too few victims to qualify as a mass shooting, and therefore it’s not enough to differentiate it from a typical day in Chicago, and thus the minimum coverage. Again, not saying that view is right or wrong.

  2. Could be, zf. My theory is that there is a lot about the perp the press doesn’t want us to know. You can fill in the blanks.

  3. You have a point there, that is certainly a big possibility as well!
