Positivity: Man who falls unconscious at Revel thanks two bystanders who saved his life

Mike Schmidt headed to Revel Coffee House and ordered the drink as he waited for a friend, but then he started to feel dizzy.

“I put my hand out to balance myself and that’s all I remember.”

“My heart had gone into ventricular tachycardia. Fortunately there were two really good people there that jumped right in and knew CPR and performed it properly until the paramedics could get there. ”

Now Mike calls these two his angels.

Pat Roseland, a retired nurse anesthesiologist and Lacey Patnoe, a respiratory therapist. Two medical professionals who just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

“I was sitting here and I looked over and noticed he was feeling faint,” said Lacey.

“I heard she said he wasn’t breathing and there was no pulse, so we just initiated CPR and stayed there until the paramedics came,” said Pat.

While Mike already thanked them once before, he wanted to thank them again, but this time get his lemonade too.

So they went back to Revel to do just that.

“Just for people to step up to the plate, to jump in and do CPR, to do what’s right. It means the world. It meant my life,” said Mike. …
