  1. Walmart is testing a robot fry cook named ‘Flippy’ at its delis

    Interesting comment in the video, flippy will not replace workers since it is getting harder to find them.

    In other words, a repetitive job that workers don’t want is filled by a robot instead of an illegal alien. Now you understand Obama’s negative comments on automation, he wasn’t concerned about American citizens loosing their jobs, he was concerned that the magnet which attracts illegals will lose it’s drawing power to the US.

    Once Walmart accepts this technology in it’s deli operations, ALL the fast food chains will immediately begin using this machine to increasingly staff their kitchens in order to solve their high turn overs in staff.

    Personally, I would prefer the leakage of food grade oil in my food instead of human spit…

  2. I think this will affect employment on the margins by a fairly small percentage, but kiosk ordering will have a greater impact.
