  1. Repost since I got no answer last time.

Is there anything out there debunking this Time Magazine piece and/or the studies it quotes? Rush mentioned it, but I didn’t get to hear the rest of it. It ticks me off because it’ll be used as an excuse to raid our 401k’s and I don’t want the government in my money.

Addendum: One of those “studies” is Danish. What the hell would the Danish know about our system?

  2. #1, I intend to look into this to see if it is more than just some guy spouting off, which was the case a few years ago. Not that such spouting is unimportant, b/c it can be a bellwether.

  3. #2, Agreed, especially if the sprouter is going to throw studies out there that supposedly back he or she up.

Also, the Atlantic also claimed 401(k)’s were a dinosaur (as opposed to what? cutting edge, modern programs like Social Security?) and a waste of money but apparently their story is a rehash of the Times story (with that same “Danish study”) so I don’t care about that one.
