  1. Call me a “True Believer”, but I don’t buy his so-called confession. I think he was either coerced into it or decided to “confess” so he could compete in triathlons and the like again. Watching it, it looked forced and unemotional as if he was having to read a script that he didn’t have any passion for.

If he is so guilty, why is there such a lack of hard evidence and why is the supposed “proof” *still* being withheld then?

  2. #1, my understanding is that a couple of his closest associates have either ‘fessed up or said they’re about to, which forced Armstrong’s hand. So I think we have to assume the proof is there.

Your take on his reaction is probably rooted in that and as you noted his desire to compete in other endurance events in the future. Reilly made the same observation in an ESPN appearance.

  3. #2, Yeah, but who exactly are these close associates, what are their motives/reputation and who possibly coerced them? People have a lot to gain from pointing fingers at Lance at this point. Bear in mind that associates, no matter how close, are not necessarily friends.

I just find it suspicious that we are constantly told of this overwhelming evidence, yet nobody is allowed to see it. Instead we get bloated reports filled with false and unprovable information and rumors from people who have lied before ending with the most robotic and unemotional “confession” ever.

  4. #3, I think it’s to the point where just about the whole USPS team from that era has confessed to either doping themselves or knowing that it was going on.

How they beat the tests I don’t quite understand.
