  1. Tom,

How true and obvious, but also likely to be ignored by the experts who keep thinking we need to go left to attract more voters. Wrong! Even Bush with his issues won with the base. He did not attract any liberal votes with his out reach crap like NCLB. I’ve already had arguments with “conservative” supporters of Christie who cite his expected margin of victory in a blue state. Only path to victory for GOP is nominating a principled candidate who can explain conservatism enthusiastically with words laymen and apolitical people can grasp.

  2. #1, indeed. One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

  4. #1, Yeah, they said the same thing about Romney, that the fact he won an election in a very blue state was proof that he was the only candidate that could win a national election.

  5. Christie is just 2016′s answer to 2008′s Guiliani. I see Christie going about as far.

  6. I don’t think it’s a stretch to say Christie’s slurpfest (as you call it) helped Obama win the election. A lot of people saw it and felt Obama cared about them, and they voted for him no matter where they lived. I hope these people now understand Obama only cares about himself and not them.

  7. Just imagine how angry Christie would get if a teacher were in charge of the recovery effort and it performed as poorly as it had.
