  1. Poor George. No one understands him.

  2. #1, history will, Rev. The only question is where you and I will be watching from.

  3. You are a fool. George W. Bush has been the worst president on American history, from any perspective-foreign policy, domestic policy, the economy, trade…..And the newest CBS poll put his approval 20%, the lowest in history.

Let’s let Nobel Prize winning economist Professor Paul Krugman say it, from his NY Times blog today:

    “The monster years

Last night wasn’t just a victory for tolerance; it wasn’t just a mandate for progressive change; it was also, I hope, the end of the monster years.

What I mean by that is that for the past 14 years America’s political life has been largely dominated by, well, monsters. Monsters like Tom DeLay, who suggested that the shootings at Columbine happened because schools teach students the theory of evolution. Monsters like Karl Rove, who declared that liberals wanted to offer “therapy and understanding” to terrorists. Monsters like Dick Cheney, who saw 9/11 as an opportunity to start torturing people.
And in our national discourse, we pretended that these monsters were reasonable, respectable people. To point out that the monsters were, in fact, monsters, was “shrill.”
Four years ago it seemed as if the monsters would dominate American politics for a long time to come. But for now, at least, they’ve been banished to the wilderness”

F*** you, right wing a******. You lost big time-LOSER

  4. The Lame Stream Media has been on a tear for 8 years to brainwash the democrats to hate GWB. Funny that not one of them can name one thing GWB did wrong and not one of the same fools can name one thing Hussein O has ever done period. Criminal and homosexual acts don’t count. Hussein O was created by the Lame Stream Media because they knew the democrat party was already brainwashed. The media must be getting a good laugh at the democrats as their media outlets file for protection in the bankruptcy courts and the former newscasters apply for employment at McDonalds where half or more will be turned down. The bad news is no one, not even a brain dead democrat trust the media anymore. I laugh every time I see where they had a massive layoff. Too bad one conservative blogger can replace 50+ so called news reporters and the reporters are never missed.

  5. UK point of view: I just dont get it ? Whoever is in office still has the same problems to solve. Its not Bush’s fault the economy is like it is, its a global issue. Similarly, terrorism, Afghanistan, Iraq etc etc etc … they are all problems that arnt directly the US’s responsibility. However, the world looks to the states as the largest democracy for the solutions. This kinda filters down to the every day person and when the problems are hard to solve, the blame game begins. I mean, the financial downturn started in Bush’s twilight months of his Presidency … what does everyone think he can really do in a few months ?

  6. #3, There is nothing more obnoxious than a ungracious winner. And I see Tom let us see your ignorant 4 letter comment so that we can guage your maturity level.

You lost that argument and you confirmed for all the readers here you lack the intelligence and maturity to be included in any discussion with reasonalble adults.

  7. #3, objective history will largely vindicate Bush, and Delay, and Rove, and Cheney. Write it down. And clean up your act.

  8. #6, I let it stay up for a bit by accident (have to approve first, then edit). It wasn’t intentional. Normally I wouldn’t allow it all because of profanity, but it’s so utterly classless I couldn’t resist making an exception.

  9. Not cool at all for #3 to come here and call you such names. Don’t support that one bit. I only call you guys asshats and MFers on my own blog site, not at your place. ;-)

But the notion that GWB was a wonderful President and history will one day write glorious things about how great he was is just lunacy. It’s easy to write such predictions about what history will one day say as we all will probably not be around to hold the writer accountable. You can mark this down. Bush will be known as one of the worst Presidents – but probably not THE worst – in history. He’ll be firmly placed in the lower quadrant.

Bush has presided over the complete and total implosion of the GOP. He is leaving and handing over office to “the most liberal Senator”, while Congress is in firm control by the Democrats. States like Ohio, Florida, and even Indiana went blue. Many in the GOP are begging people to consider the U.S. a “center-right” country. They are also saying the GOP lost it’s way, acted too much like Democrats. Were not conservative enough.

Whether or not you believe any of that, the person responsible is George W. Bush. We probably won’t be around to settle the bet, but I’d wager that George Bush will never be “Truman-esque” in the way he is regarded. His problem is that nobody sees him in a good light. Conservatives think he screwed the pooch. Progressives think he’s evil incarnate. You couldn’t find the Pro-Bush coalition with CIA wiretaps.

The fact is Bush had a unique opportunity to use our “common enemy” togetherness to forge a united country behind one goal. He squandered it horribly by going to war in Iraq instead of singularly pursuing terrorists and capturing or killing Osama bin Laden.

Bush weakened the country in profound ways both at home and abroad. The clean up is going to be brutal. Luckily the American people elected a strong leader with an inate ability to build coalitions among disparate groups. His election alone has restored much faith in our country all across the globe.

WE weren’t disloyal to Bush when he needed us. Hardly. HE was disloyal to us when we were all behind him. Very few Americans – this one included – were prepared to get behind him on 9/12/01. He decided to leverage such sentiment into a Project for a New American Century rather than channel it to build a broad coalition fighting a common enemy.

But that ship has sailed. He’s now the lamest of the lame ducks and has been currently torching every consumer protection and environmental law in sight on his way out. Cowardly acts we’ll have to remedy as well.

The honorable thing for any American to do now is salute your new President Barack HUSSEIN Obama and get behind him in this precarious time for our country. Or – as might be expected from the likes of you – be obstructionist straight out of the gate. If you are upset about the treatment of Bush, you can’t possibly repeat that with Obama. He, afterall, was elected by a greater margin than Bush in either election.

One thing is clear. America has spoken and spoken loudly. You’re either with us or you’re against us.

    BOOHOO.

    OUCH.

  10. Interesting comments. In sum, the important point is actually brought to us by the good Cincy. I suggest everyone read again the quote presented there from the Nobel Laureate Mr. Krugman. Truly, are those the comments of a sane and rational man? Forget about the eventual historical perspective on the past eight years. The choice of language and the imagery presented in his ad hominem, hate-filled rant is the kind of thinking you want to see coming from the Obama administration? Take shelter folks, ’cause the storm is coming for those who would stand athwart the path of Change!

  11. Wow, liberals really are worse winners than they are losers. At least they are consistent, same hate, loathing and intolerance…blah, blah, blah.

No time to waste on them however, the surge is coming in two years…you’ve got one year libs, do your damage then be afraid, be very afraid…heh, heh, heh….

Oh, and Cindy, thanks for confirming your unedumacated, piece of trash status in this world. Let us know how the “unifying attributes” you so eagerly demonstrate, work out for you…

  12. While I’m thinking of it, we all should take the opportunity to write an email to W and let him know we are greatful for his service to our country and despite the differences on some issues, we on the whole were glad he became POTUS when he did.

    Comment by dscott — November 7, 2008 @ 1:37 pm

  13. I almost forgot, write Dick Cheney as well, he has been a really good sport despite being demonized even worse than W: vice_president@whitehouse.gov

    W is at president@whitehouse.gov
