A. To determine an AG's food stamp allotment using the basis of issuance tables:

Calculate the AG's net monthly income.
If the AG is not subject to the net income standard, find the monthly allotment by reading in the table down to the appropriate income and across to the appropriate AG size. NOTE: Eligible AGs of one or two persons are eligible for a monthly allotment of not less than the "minimum benefit."
If the AG is subject to the net income standard, compare the AG's net monthly income to the maximum net monthly income standard. If the AG's net income is greater than the Net Monthly Income Standard, the AG is ineligible. If the AG's net income is equal to or less than the Net Monthly Income Standard, the AG is eligible. Find the allotment by reading in the table down to the appropriate income and across to the appropriate AG size.

NOTE: Eligible AGs of one or two persons are eligible for a full monthly benefit of not less than the "minimum benefit."

B. To calculate the allotment manually (in lieu of using the basis of issuance tables):

Multiply the net monthly income by 30 percent.
Round the product up to the next whole dollar if it ends in 1 through 99 cents.
To obtain the allotment, subtract the result from the Maximum Food Stamp Allotment (below for the appropriate AG size).
If the computation results in an allotment of $1, $3, or $5, round up to $2, $4, or $6 respectively.
If the benefit is for a one- or two-person AG and the computation results in a benefit of less than the "minimum benefit," round up to the minimum benefit amount.

Use the above formula also to determine the allotment if the AG size is larger than 20 persons.
